Liezl received instruction in ballet method from the best teachers and professors of Vaganova Ballet Academy. She came on a regular basis for 10 years and attended lectures and ballet classes and passed all tests and exams.

Her studies concentrated on Junior and Middle classes levels for students ages 10-15, but included attending classes in Character Dance, Historical Dance, and Pas de Deux.

My name is Olivia, I am originally from Oakland, California and am currently studying at London Contemporary Dance School to get my BA in Contemporary Dance. Reflecting on my previous dance studies, Liezl is one of the teachers I feel most indebted to; though I only had the privilege of knowing Liezl for one year, thanks to her coaching, my ballet technique grew leaps and bounds—never before had I undergone such a fast growth in my dancing!

The first time I ever took Liezl’s class, she approached me in the midst of a barre combination and explained to me, in great depth, the mechanics behind my pelvis’ posture. I had struggled with my alignment for years, and never before had a teacher taken the time during class to help me understand how to improve it. Liezl seemed to instantly understand my technical habits, strengths, and how best to challenge me, as if she had been my teacher for years. Captivated by her teaching method—personable and wildly direct in her explanations and expectations of her students—I soon found myself taking her classes religiously.

Liezl will take any student under her wing, no matter their age or technical background, so long as they are eager to learn. Liezl will impart her mastery of the Vaganova technique to her students through her detail-oriented eye and consistent one-on-one feedback.

I would strongly recommend Liezl as a teacher. Her instruction helped transform my ballet technique, increase my understanding of a wide-range of dance forms, and will serve me for the rest of my life.
